Barclays recently conducted ‘Rise Episode II: The Banker Awakens’ hackathon with primary focus on 3 arenas that have been most affected by technology innovation and new disruptors in the financial space. The 3 arenas were – World I: The Consumer Cosmos, World 2: Rebellion of the Corporate Treasurer, and World 3: The Payments Parallax. The hackathon aimed to bring a league of supercharged developers, startups and game changers to reclaim these 3 worlds and create a path for the future of financial services.
i-exceed participated in the event and finished as the top two finalists. We participated under the theme – World 2: Rebellion of the Corporate Treasurer. We used Appzillon to build an omni-channel solution for corporate treasurers that aggregates the relationship overview from multiple banks and allows drill-down into individual accounts. The solution also offered multi-bank liquidity management capabilities and provided an easy-to-use chat interface for users to interact with a bot to perform various transactions without navigating through multiple screens. Our solution was very well received by the panel of judges and there were a lot of interest in the way we developed the solution in a very short time span. Yet again, we were able to demonstrate the rapid development capability of Appzillon in delivering innovative solutions for the financial services industry.
